‍ Hey folks! I’m Matt, and I offer creative, documentary-style photography and guided nature tours in Calgary and across Alberta.

I pride myself on not being a competitive photographer, but a collaborative member of our community. I am constantly inspired by my peers, always learning new ways to grow, and love making genuine friends along the way. While I can easily just show up and "do the work," I’m truly looking to build lasting relationships that are mutually beneficial and creatively inspiring.

Lately, Calgary’s vibrant music and arts scenes are where I have been focusing my attention with photography. On each portfolio page, I’ve outlined specific creative goals I’m aiming for. If you’ve landed here, I have a feeling you’re someone I’d love to connect with to get those goals checked off the list.

Beyond the lens, I’m a skilled naturalist and birder with over a decade of experience as a former wildlife biologist and citizen scientist. You might know me as the organizer of the Calgary City Nature Challenge or coordinator for the Christmas Bird Count.

Through my guided nature tours in and around Calgary, I bring that blend of scientific knowledge and personal passion directly to you. My background in geography and urban ecology gives a unique twist on my interpretive walks where I like to combine storytelling with a bit of humor and genuine exploration.
